Woman arrested for breaking into motorsports dealership tells police she ‘rather breaking and entering than shooting people’

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Heaven Kiana Hicks, 19, was arrested last night for allegedly breaking into Solano Cycle on S. Main Street and attempting to steal a dirt bike.

Around 6:15 p.m., a witness called 911 to report that someone was breaking into the business. Around the same time, the business owner called 911 to report that he was watching someone on surveillance video inside the business pushing a dirt bike from the back of the store at the main entrance. He reported that she could be seen trying to start the bike, which is worth $1,299, and that she had opened one of the cash registers, but there was no money in it. .

A Gainesville Police Department officer arrived and saw that this glass door was broken; he then saw someone inside. He ordered her to walk towards the officers and, as she approached, an officer asked her if she worked at the company. She reportedly replied, “No, I just broke in.

After Miranda, Hicks allegedly admitted walking to the business and breaking into it. She reportedly said she’d rather break in than shoot people. She also said she couldn’t start anything inside the business without gasoline.

Hicks was charged with burglary and attempted grand larceny. She has a juvenile background and was released from prison on a daytime reporting condition.
