WILDWOOD – This is another sign that summer is coming to an end.
A 2022 closure date has been announced for the yellow and blue streetcars that carry visitors to the boardwalk in the Wildwoods.
According to Tourist tram websitepassengers can expect service from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily until Labor Day, Sept. 5. After that, the times are staggered until the trams are closed for the season.
From September 6 to 8, the trams will run from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The last two days of operation are Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10, when the trams will run through the signs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
A one-way ticket costs $4.00. You can get your first ride for free when you buy rides with the Wildwoods Tram Car App from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Discounted ticket books (5 tickets for $18, for example) and wristbands are available at several locations on the boardwalk.
With the announcement of the closure, Sightseer is already looking towards 2023, which will be the 75th year of operation of the trams. Wildwood fans are encouraged to inquire online in December to purchase tickets for next season “at the best price”.
