Oceanside RCMP deal with graffiti, counterfeit bills and vehicle thieves – Vancouver Island Free Daily

Oceanside RCMP received 226 complaints during the week of March 20-26.

Some of the incidents included:

March 20th

• A horse saddle worth $800 was reported stolen from the 200 block of Hirst Avenue, Parksville.

• A prowler was reported in the 100 block of Jensen Avenue East, Parksville.

March 21st

• A vehicle was reported stolen in the 800 block of Redonda Place, Qualicum Beach. The vehicle was picked up in Nanaimo the following day.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 3800 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach.

• A black 2001 Acura MDX, BC registration NB004P, was reported stolen in the 2600 block of Northwest Bay Road, Nanoose Bay. The vehicle was found in Parksville a few days later.

• Two catalytic converters were reported stolen and a third was damaged in the 500 block of Stanford Avenue, Parksville.

• A black 1997 Ford Motorhome, BC license plate BN015F, was stolen from the 1800 block of the Alberni Highway in Coombs.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 100 block of Renz Road, Parksville.

• Two brown rattan chairs and blue cushions were stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Bramble Street, Parksville, on March 21.

• A vehicle lurker was reported in the 600 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.

March 22

• A wallet was stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Dogwood Street, Parksville. The wallet was picked up on March 30.

• A vehicle window was smashed in the 400 block of Willow Road, Qualicum Beach.

• A counterfeit Canadian $100 bill, serial number BVD3075882, was reportedly received by a business in the 700 block of Memorial Avenue, Qualicum Beach.

• A building was tagged with graffiti in the 100 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville.

• Insurance papers were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2200 block of the Alberni Freeway in Parksville. No damage was reported.

March 23

• Two portable toilets were spray-painted in Rathtrevor Beach Park, Parksville.

• A vehicle’s steering column was reported damaged in the 200 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville. There were no signs of a break-in.

March 24

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of Coombs Road, Coombs.

• A break and enter into a shed was reported in the 900 block of Fairdowne Road, Parksville. Nothing was reported missing.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized with a key in the 300 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville.

• A business break-in has been reported in the 3100 block of Dogleg Road in Whiskey Creek. Damage found to enclosure fences and some storage lockers had their locks cut and a number of items stolen.

March 25

• A purple sports bag with personal effects was found in the Island Highway and Yambury Road area, Qualicum Beach. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

March 26

• A 25-year-old bonsai tree, including a pot, was stolen from the 400 block of Yambury Road, Qualicum Beach.

• A dirt bike and an Evinrude engine were reported stolen from the 2200 block of the Alberni Highway in Coombs.

• Prowlers have been reported in the 800 block of Mulholland Drive, Parksville.
