New Jersey ranked 22nd in nation for hiring in 2022: PA 8th worst

In a survey just released and conducted by, New Jersey ranks 22nd in America for hiring difficulties.

Pennsylvania did even worse, finishing in the top 10 worst at #8.

The data above includes each state’s performance over the past month and the past year.

One thing is clear, America is experiencing the worst return to the labor market in terms of overall labor force participation rate since World War II.

Millions of Americans have left their workplaces during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many have not yet returned. Some never will.

Finishing in New Jersey in 22nd place isn’t absolutely terrible, but it’s not good.

Neighboring Pennsylvania’s finish at #8 is very poor and shows they have a lot of work to do.

Much attention is paid each month to the unemployment rate. Very little attention is given to the labor participation rate. This is the number of people who actually work.

Workplace participation rate is really important because it directly illustrates whether or not different industries have enough employees to provide the right services to the American people.
