HORSE DRAW CONTEST — Friday, August 19 – 8 p.m. Tribune
The value of draft animals depends on their ability to pull and withstand sustained effort. The purpose of this test is to determine the maximum sustained tensile capacity of each pair. These tests will also provide valuable scientific data on the relationship between form and function in draft animals and should stimulate general interest in the breeding and use of good draft horses and mules. In particular, it is desired:
ELIGIBILITY: OPEN TO THE WORLD. Horses and mules, regardless of ownership, are eligible to participate in this competition.
CONDITIONS- A stone boat loaded with cement blocks will be used. Owners must provide their own power supply.

Friday draw starts at 11:00 a.m. The Friday draw is a “Champions Draw” ONLY of the daily 1st place winners from each class throughout the week. A trophy will be awarded daily to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of each class as well as a ribbon for all participants. Trophies will be awarded for the Championship Pulls on Friday.
There will be two classes of applicants:
Class 1 – Boys and Girls – 35-55 pounds
Class 2 – Boys and Girls – 56-75 pounds
Competitors will be weighed during the first participation.
Age limit: 11 years old at the start of the show.

Rules for production vehicles: All tires must be street legal, no tractor tires allowed, no motorcycle or ATV vehicles allowed, must be a production vehicle and roll bars are recommended.
ZERO TURN MANEUVERABILITY CLASS — Wednesday, August 17 — 7:30 p.m. at the Pull Track
Class payment: $50, $30, $15 and $5
Classes: up to 50″ Deck/51″ to 60″ Deck/61″ and above Deck/Powder Puff
Rules: A maneuverability course will be set up with different obstacles and each participant will be timed. Each operator will have two attempts on the course and the best time of the two will be used for the ranking. Zero turn mowers should be stored with all safety devices and guards in place.
